By deepening our understanding of classical Kata and Kobudo, we gain clarity of how the Okinawan combat methods were used successfully and apply it to modern times. Our training is not just physical, but a lifelong study of tradition, resilience, and evolution, with the goal of preserving traditional Okinawan Goju Ryu Karate and Okinawan Kobudo for future generations.

The Koryu Koshu Kai was founded to create an organization for dedicated martial artists who want to train and preserve traditional karate and kobudo, absent of the politics, egos, and high costs that are too common elsewhere. We are a passionate group of practitioners focused on growth, respect, and the authentic teachings of Okinawan Goju Ryu and Kobudo!

WHAT WE OFFER
We provide the complete system of Okinawan karate as it was originally intended: a personal, detailed transmission of effective combat methods. Unlike the robotic forms found in large-scale modern training, our focus is on practical self-defense through the Koryu ways. We preserve rare traditions, including the open-hand Sanchin and two of the Suparinpei Kata (Jo and Chu). Our training ensures every movement is functional and strategically sound, prioritizing authentic martial skill over simple exercise. Black belt members at our Honbu Dojo benefit from exclusive one-on-one mentorship to master these intricate techniques.
